Open access publishing (OA) is a practice which provide unrestricted access through the Internet to peer-reviewed journal articles.
OA reduces barriers to access to knowledge, maximizes the opportunity for publications to be read and for authors to be recognized for their contribution to the field.
The use of CC BY facilitates alignment with practice in the institutions of the European Union and in the Member States, as well as interoperability at European level.
